Last revised 18 September 2026. We rewrite this guide when the catalog changes or when we learn something that makes an earlier version wrong. What changed in this revision is logged at the bottom.
The short version

- They're alcohol-free and lightly sweetened with stevia. Each bottle holds two servings.

What kava is
Kava is the root of Piper methysticum, a shrub grown across the South Pacific. It's been prepared as a drink there for centuries by grinding the root and steeping it in water. The compounds researchers study it for are called kavalactones.
If you want a neutral read on kava, go to the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, which is part of the National Institutes of Health. It's a better source than anything written by someone selling you a bottle, including us.
What's in a GÜD Tonics bottle
Two botanicals, not one. Noble kava root extract and Mitragyna speciosa, which is kratom. Then flavor and a little stevia.
We put that first on purpose. The product name says kava, and people reasonably read that as kava only. Finding out what's actually in a bottle after you've opened it is our failure, not yours. So: there's kratom in every GÜD Tonics ready-to-drink flavor. The full ingredient list for any product is on that product's page.
The drinks are alcohol-free. Each bottle holds two servings.
We don't publish a kavalactone or mitragynine figure on this page. We'll publish one when we can point you at the batch test behind it, name the lot, and date it here.
The three flavors, side by side

What we don't stock
An earlier version of this guide pointed you to a 3-Bottle Flavor Sampler. That isn't a product we carry, and it isn't in the catalog under any name. If you want to try all three flavors, the Bundle is the product that does that job.
We also don't make a ready-to-drink bottle without kratom in it. Every GÜD tonic has both botanicals.
Before you buy
- 21+ only.
- Contains kratom.
- Not for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Don't combine it with alcohol.
- Don't drive or operate machinery after drinking one.
- If you have a liver condition or take any medication, talk to your healthcare provider before trying it.
On that last point, here's the NCCIH line word for word: "Various kava products have been linked to rare cases of liver injury, some of which have been serious or even fatal." The U.S. Food and Drug Administration also lists kava in its dietary supplement ingredient directory, tied to a safety communication it issued in March 2002.
We can't ship to every state and county. The current restricted list is printed at the top of every product page. It changes, so check the page you're buying from rather than trusting a list written into an article.
How we revise this guide
This page isn't finished and it isn't meant to be. We revise it when the catalog changes, when a law changes, when a batch test comes back, or when someone tells us we got something wrong. Every revision is dated at the top and logged at the bottom, so you can see what we knew and when we knew it.
That's the point of dating it. A guide with no date is asking you to assume it's current, and in this category that assumption is usually wrong.
If something here is out of date or incorrect, tell us at info@grassrootsharvest.com. We'd rather fix it than defend it.

Revision history
- 18 September 2026. Full rewrite. Rebuilt the guide around the live catalog rather than a single flavor. Added the kratom disclosure to the top of the page. Removed a link to a 3-Bottle Flavor Sampler, a product we do not carry, and added a section saying so. Corrected two source links that pointed somewhere other than where they were labeled. Removed effect descriptions and serving guidance throughout. Added current prices and formats for all five products, a revision policy, and this log.
- 24 June 2026. Original publication as a single-product guide to TropiColada.
